Don't get discouraged and don't rely too much on doctors. I don't mean to not use doctors, I mean for you not to forget that no one will pay as much attention to your problem as you do. Stay on it yourself and if you have any second thoughts about a doctor, do not hesitate to go to a different doctor... your intuition will usually serve you well... so remember, if you aren't completely comfortable with your doctor, if you aren't completely sure that your doctor is giving you the best care available.. find a new doctor. No one can do your part except you.
I had a friend from the Kentucky backwoods. He once told me, "In my family we don't have doctors, we have undertakers". My wifes grandparents were like that, until they got really sick. Not me, I get my checkups and if i'm not confident in a doctor, I find another one. I am on my third cardiologyst and when I got two stints it was because I asked to be checked. (I asked because I was over 50 and all the men in my family have heart trouble, on both sides of my family). I had no symptoms but since I have a family history they agreed to check me out. They found two major blockages, an 85% and 95% in my right main artery, they freaked out, told me I should be dead, and sent me straight to a larget hospital and I had surgery that evening... it wouldn't have happened if I had not taken the initiative... you do the same. Remember if you have anything other than complete confidence in your doctors and their diagnosis... there are plenty of other doctors. IT IS YOUR HEALTH on the line, not theirs. Maybe you're getting the best care but... be certain.
My sister was a RN for years and she taught me this... that there lots of doctors, no one will care for you like you will, and if you have any idea that your doctor might not be the best... fond another one... she was speaking from a lot of experience in medicine.
I hope you get this figured out and get well soon.. and i'm sorry if i'm sticking my nose where it don't belong but health is serious stuff and some serious thinking should always accompany it.
I will remember you in my prayers and I am a believer.
