Got the "I"

Finally got out after Thanksgiving for a short hunt, it was cool to see the dome shape roll out of the dirt. I knew instantly it was a 2 piece button that has been eluding me all summer. The back mark was nearly gone but I managed to make out most of the word quality so with the help of Aberts button book the only match was "Best Quality London" The fully soldered shank is different as well. It took quite a lot of effort to clean it properly with no guild showing at the start.
It read 18 on the Nox

Sweet looking button for sure ! Very nice.

Great find Jeff. That would make anyone's day. It is a button that is super rare up here.
I have pulled just a few in 20 years of detecting. Years ago, I was lucky enough to get a "C" button.

Thanks Dave. There was no civil war activity here. I hunt primarily houses on the 1870's maps which could be veterans returning or homesteading after the war. I ended up with 26 buttons last year a record for me. 1 so far this year 🤷‍♂️ , very dry weather this summer.

Nice find Jeff buttons military up here are scarcely found a few over the years one mint I infantry button.

Terrific find, that would make my day!

Thanks, and it did Mike. Believe it or not the best part was half hour cleaning it with my 6 yr. old granddaughter the slow reveal was as exciting to her as it was me. I might have a hunter on my hands. But I did start her pretty young, here she is showing grandma how deep the target is!

Congrats Jeff! I only found one military button this year and it also came in at 18 with my 600. I didn't look it over very well. How did you clean yours? Mine was also found at an old site!
