Well guys, digging today was just terrible. Broke my new shovel 1/2 hour into my hunt. Pick axe was better but still was tough. You had to be very selective for the effort involved. Managed a couple wheats, a merc, a cool flat button, a bunch of watchamacallits, and something very neat. If anyone clicked on the link to se the history of the Richmond family, you'll know why it was a neat find. I found a homemade envelope hand written "Jonathan Richmond Taunton Ma" with and old washington stamp and a wax seal! This was in a pile of papers behind the home. This was the Richmonds home. How cool is that? A little search claims the stamp to be between 1847 and 1861. Pics are on my phone and I need to somehow compress them to upload.
Connect phone to computer with usb cable and download to desktop or text/email them to yourself. Then open the pics with Picasa or similar program and export. Be sure to change pixel to 600 or less.

I spent some time there yesterday, and man that place is a time capsule. The demo crew have ripped up the whole 2nd floor boards, the stair treads, and holes in the walls. They know where to look I guess. It's a shame they overlooked the historical importance of the stuff they threw out though. I worked my way through the attic/crawl space and grabbed a lot of papers, some books, etc.. The basement was a bit creepy. Dirt floor with mason jars in every corner. All empty. Not enough time to go through everything! I go to work when it's dark and get home when it's dark. You can imagine it's cold as hell in there. No lights and creepy.
