Got my V3...,,,,,:clapping:,,Reading to do,,:wiggle:

Congratulations, Tim! I've had my V3 for about 6 months now and, although the learning curve has been a bit steep, I am truly enjoying it and have found some neat stuff. The users on this forum have been wonderful in providing support & answering questions - you can also do searches in the forum as many topics have already been covered. It is a continuous learning process and I am always finding great tips here. Not to mention all the inspirational posts and pictures from those who have made some truly awesome finds

Good luck to you and I hope you have a great time with your new V3!

Congrats on the new acquisition. I think you'll enjoy it... I love mine, and only been out once with it. (I live in a place where the ground freezes in the winter :( ) One suggestion if you're not already doing it is read the manual, read the posts, watch the videos on the DVD. It's not a hard machine to use, or learn just that if you want to get the most out of it, it's worth the time to read, and understand as much as you can.

On the other hand.. if the weathers warm, have a nice place to go, stick the quickie guide in your pocket, and go find something. (use the preset programs, and the probe feature to set up the RX setting for maximum performance, and then post some pictures of your finds, for the rest of us to salivate over)

Welcome to the forum Tim. You are in a good location to dig up some world and U.S. history...........:detecting:

Welcome Tim, as suggested use the search feature. Most questions have been answered in detail. Good luck and good hunting. Rob

thanks all,,really excited about it,,,,:bouncy:,i have been watching the DVD,,,,,had to put it on the side as my son's computer crashed,:nerd:,,so,,off to fix that,,,haaa,,,never a dull moment,,,again thanks all,,,HH,.,,Tim

Tim.....You cannot read the manual or watch the video enough. Every time you read the manual it gets clearer, but the absoute best thing you can do, after reading the manual, is copy Beep's program on your computer. Run off copies and delve deep into the expert menu. The more you study the program sheets, the better you will understand the expert menu and then setting up your programs becomes a snap.....Coach C

thanks Coach,,i will run the copies and try them,,When I started the V3 for the first time,,,wow,,,it was running like wild , all different icons and sounds bouncing around, ,I read in the manual, afterwards, that you shouldn't run it inside ,,I was reading the posts here and they say how HOt the factory setting are,,,,but,,once I took it outside in my yard , it calm down,,,,interesting,,I did find a memorial penny,,:detecting:,,,,,haa,,thanks again,,,,HH,,Tim

Tim if you put the V3 in the common program (last program in the V3 listings) and keep the coil away from any metal you can do air test in the house using coins and rings/jewelry to get an idea as to what they VDI at.
