You have a GREAT machine there and don't let anyone say otherwise.
Learn it, and learn it good, and you'll be surprised at what the Yellow Fellow can do.
Watch the video and go slow at first. I've had mine now for 3 years and I'm still learning it and it's little quirks.
Start out in coin mode and just have fun. It's like the candy bar Almond Joy. Sometimes you find a lot and sometimes you don't.
No matter what machine you buy you have to take the time to learn it. There has been times where I came back with a penny, but you know what it was a good penny and I had fun.
As you advance you'll grow into the optional coils that fit the Ace. The Sniper coil is one surprising coil for being the size of a hockey puck. You'll be able to get close to bleacher and swing poles. Then you have the 9"x 12" for open fields. Don't be in a rush to buy new coil right off the bat. The stock coil is good and you'll find a lot with it.
There are plenty of people on this forum that will answer your questions. Don't be afraid to ask and when possible post your finds so all can enjoy and help you out.
And most important of all fill in the holes that you dig.
