Got my Gold Bug Problem Video uploaded

The first video is the High conductor test Barber half and Morgan dollar It's only 30 seconds I used my cell phone...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRhcAF_IJnQ

The second one is a low conductor high conductor test eagle I coat Button and an Enfield Butt plate brass read like 93 or so http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7v45fq3wycI

Not the best videos but the setting were Ground balance set,,, 99 sens,,, zero disc..I also tried moving the disc around and dropped the sens all the way to 20 and still doing it..

The higher the conductivity the less it picks up...and actually looses depth??

A quarter will do it on about every 7-8 sweeps before it drops out and a dime will not drop out.

Again you can see in the video which is poor what I am talking about!

How dose it do on a piece of gold? Can that problem be fixed or what. I would like to see the 11 DD coil on it and see what it dose. Im currious to see what it would do with a nugget.

:rant:Well I hope you get the problem fixed. That would scare me. Well let us know if you get it fixed..I will be praying for you.

This is bad news, send it straight back to the dealer and have it replaced, its faulty thats for sure, If my G2 is like this there will be hell to play, surley they test the units before they leave the factory?

Sounds like a faulty coil but then you say its fine in all metal

The discrimination circuit must be faulty, what a dissapointment i hope they put this right for you and fast

you can tell it tears the earing back up and got real problems on the high conductor!!!

I don't understand this.. Its a real smooth a stable machine but something is just plain wrong??

Sorry again for the poor video but it's all i have right now...

Keith

Tku for the video. Wow it went off on the ear ring. That sucks it won't go off on the half doller. I seen on another post about the settings have you tryed them? I think its the one with the gold bug beach. Maybe some one nows whats wrong but it should give a single with the half doller and quarter very quick.

This sure looks defective to me. You got a lemon.

Trouble shooting...it sounds like something to do with the ground balance settings. You can prove it out by gradually lowering the ground balance setting until the quarter comes back. Once the quarter is back again, see how far off you are from a true balance.

Hope you end up with a good one. I was looking forward to your report.

Looks like Fisher rushed them to the market too quickly, but that's what we wanted. Mine works fine, but has few cosmetic flaws that probably shouldn't have been overlooked. But I'll take it anyway, and get it fixed later.

This worries me. I was about to put an order in today or next, but this is bad news.:surprised:

How do you keep it from not beeping when I sway the detector. I just got mine today, and I can't tell what is what. I put some coins and gold on the ground and it constentley beeps even when I move the coil over plain dirt. Also I can't pick up very small pieces of gold? What are the numbers on the screen for? They are diffrent then the ones on the top bar. Can you upload a video on GB? It would be helpful..tku Keith.

set point number's....... the number's across the speedometer style meter at the top is your I.D.( In all Metal only)

In disc mode the numbers are the target I.D. and it aligns with the speedometer number..

Whats weird is the all metal mode is the only way to see your Fe bar and also be able to do a ground balance.

but it is a dedicated gold machine so that's where the meat and potato's are at( All Metal)

Don't know if there is an overload feature on this new detector, but it sure seems all the videos I've seen so far, the coil is way to close to the test targets... Raise the coil about 5 inches and shoot some more vids...

I had to keep it close to even get it to hit the one way.. pull it back an no way it's there.. It also does it on large iron, big brass, any thing that will read on an I.D scale above about 80 or so trust me on this it will not hit it 5-6 inches back...The video is not meant to cause Fisher problems.. It's meant to show there is an issue..I know how to run a detector to some degree and I tried every angle every disc sens combo and it's not there...That's not it's only issue but it's the most important.

Keith

Hi Keith, have you tried the original 5 inch coil that came with the Goldbug? Could that be why your having issues?

I think the Gold Bug should be for Gold, not for any other. Like a minelab you dont buy one for coins. Like the old gold bug. let Fisher come out with the Tek G2 as a all around detector. Im a newbie i have searched the web on the gold bug, plan to buy one. but cant find anything about how it picks up Gold, glad to see the gold backing on a Ear ring pick up. Seems all the talk and reports are on everything but Gold .

actually a good hot gold machine should pick up all targets maybe not at extreme depths in the ground but it should signal on all targets in an airtest..

Here is the problem.
