Got my CTX3030 Today

Coinstar

New member
Just got the CTX3030. It came just as sun going down, won't be able to try it out until tomorrow.
Coming from a Whites V3i. Hopefully not to much of a learning curve :clapping:

I moved to the ctx from the v3i. The ctx is quite simple to figure out if you were able to understand the V.

If you have had no experience with Minelabs, it will take a while to get used to a completely different detector and ID system, but hard............ no.

The CTX is very easy to understand the basics and a very good turn on and go hunting detector without knowing it all. Start with the factory coins program, air test some targets so you will know where they will show up on the screen and you are ready to go out and have fun. You can easily learn as you go with the CTX and won't miss much while learning.

Good luck with your new CTX.....

Yea understanding the V can only help so much with Minelab (if you have never used one), but you will be glad u made the switch, give it a week.

Read the book, watch some videos, and go out and hunt clad. I know the machine is capable of more, but just put in auto ,coin mode and go dig some clad. You will pick up on it quick. The kiss theory is the best when learning.H.H.

That's the threshold and is how most people hunt. You can adjust its volume and pitch to your liking. Threshold is actually a useful sound, first and foremost by letting you know when you pass over a discriminated out item by the sound nulling (stopping) for a short time. Also great to let you know you're hunting with the machine off. :detecting:

You lucky person , i am dreaming of owning a ctx at the moment , could be a long while before i can get the money together , wish you the best of luck with it. :)
