Got my 11DD" for the Gold Bug today...

I checked Kellyco, they will be shipping mid to late April. So, only a few short weeks before this baby, now called the Gold Bug Pro, will be in our hands lol

...it has to be the coils for the Teknetics greek series only. I tried my F75 coils and they don't ground balance properly.
I was doing some target testing again the other day and I am telling yah...it is on par with the LTD. Certainly deeper than any other detector I have used that is in the same price range...

My guess the Teknetics G2 will be just as good if not better as it has the 11 coil as standard

azsh07 what sort of depth are you getting on a coin target in inches ?

is this in air or ground?

I never realy measured air distance too much....as I have seen machines like the Shadow X-5 and the Tejon get stupid distance in the air and then just loose half of it in ground. I can remember testing a Tejon and it would hit a quarter with the coil at my knee and I am 6"1'.....but in ground...9" max in the Maine soil.

My best way to give you a true non exagerrated depth is simply this...it is right on par with the F75 LTD in boost mode....in air...in ground....whatever.

Nothing here in Arizona is deep...it is all shallow so I can't give real world info. In my test patch...the deepest dime I have is 8"...as I just can't get any deeper with a shovel in the hardpan. It hits that dime with a few inches to spare...I can raise the coil the same height as the F75 LTD before they both loose it about 3.5" above ground. Our ground here is kinda cr@ppy. I have a silver washington quarter at 10"...and nothing can hit it. The minelab Se Pro....nothin, the F75 LTD..nothin...GoldBug3..Nothin... no matter how much i tweaked all 3 detectors..nothin. So our ground is a bit tough.

I tested it also against the Se Pro and it was on par with it also on the same targets...actually a little depper on some (verses the SE PRO)...but the Explorers to me don't do as well in some of the soils out west. Our soil is very Alkhali....they don't call the Salt River..the Salt River for nothin. Anyway, whatever depth you have seen in your areas with the F75 LTD you should see close to the same with the GBPro. Also my GB3 is slightly more stable than the F75LTD...not by much but some and I have alot of EMI around me.

What i like about the GB3 and the F75/T2 is when you air test them and then compare them to inground depth theere is not a huge depth loss like on the Shadow and the tejons where I see half that depth lost. Thats what I see.

I don't know why people are afraid to get the GB3. Do you really think that fisher is going to make some huge difference between the two. Oh they may claim some changes but I would doubt there is any real world change that will make you say...HMMM. I heard all this claptrap about how there was goin to be "secret" changes to the F-5 from the Cabeles to the Dealer versions...I even heard of some hidden modes. Ahhh...bull.

One thing nice about Cabelas....30 day money back gaurantee no questions asked.

I am not saying to not support your dealer. I try and keep Mr. Bill well fed...and by the looks of his Facebook pic...I have succeeded. But hey....if I was wanting a new GB...i would buy one from Cabelas especially if I had one close by. I have returned 3 detectors and they never care why....under 30 days. This last one I have kept.

God write up 8 inches + on a coin sounds good to me, the great thing is the detector will be very sensitive to small items of gold and silver

I search ploughed fields in the UK for small medieval silver coins so although I have gone for the Teknetics G2 i dont think there be much diffrence between this machine and the gold bug pro

Does anyone know if the stock coil on The Gold Bug Pro, if it will be waterproof?

The small 5" coil IS waterproof. Same coil as the GB3. Actually....it is also spooky deep for a 5". I have to check it again and see how it hits the 7" and 8" dimes...had the 11" on and forgot about the 5". I know it hits the 7"ddime just fine.
Remember, it ID's very accuraetly in All metal as well and is easier to seperate targets that are close that may cause the disc side to combine.

Would the Omega series 11" DD coil work with the standard Gold Bug detector that I just bought yesterday at Cabellas?

It has worked fine for me. I did notice it GB's about 5 numbers lower than the 5" stock coil. Everything else though was the saem. Id was on target. Depth will be a bit off as the meter is calibrated for the 5" coil so targets indicate a little shallower than they really are.

Does the Omega 11"DD coil have a screw-on connector or a push on connector. Some Omega coils have both.
I want to be sure that it has a screw-on connector for my Gold Bug detector.
