Works just fine. The only thing I noticed so far was the GB number as well as the ground phase numbers are off by about 7 or so. So with my stock 5" coil the ground phase is 80 or so and with the Ohmega series 11"DD the same ground is 73.
It ground balances fine and operates just fine...no wierd issues after about an hour and half fiddling with it in the test patch.
Now when I compare it side by side with my F75LTD with it's 11"DD the ground on the LTD reads 80 as it should....oh well..if I don't see any other issues all is great.
As for depth.....the GB3 is just about on par with the F75LTD in Boost mode. Still kinda shocked about that. This is with setting both up as identical as I can with the LTD in 2F tones, 90 sens, BP ( or DE) disc set to 2 or 3.
The Gold Bug is most definately deeper than the LTD if the LTD is set to DE mode. Although...maybe it is because i can lift the coil on the GB higher before the target fades than i can the LTD in DE mode.
Both operate about the same for chatter it seems...maybe the GB is a tad less skittish.
Both respond to the ground and iron almost identically. If you swung an F75 you know how much iron chatter you hear (real or not...but not EMI)...well the GB is the same.
I don't see why the GB will not make the deepest 500.00 machine going.
Can't wait until I get back to NH this summer and can do real relic hunting.
I do have to say i think the ID meter is more stable on the GB...less jumping around as compared to the F75. Not by a ton mind you but it is noticeable and...to me...the ID in all metal is better also,.
