Hi, I’m planning on purchasing another detector but not sure on either the XP- Deus 11 or the Minelab Manticore. Heard very good things about both detectors and was wondering if anyone on this site has used both machines and what your thoughts might be on either one. I’ve been detecting for some time and not new to this hobby. This will be a pricy investment and would like to get some sincere in- put before making a decision.
Thanks

Both detectors are right there with each other. I had the Manticore but sold it. Just can't seem to get along with the Minelabs. The Deus 2 has been my main detector for the last 3 yrs. I like the Deus so much that I made up the WS6 lite version as a backup.. I purchased the 13 " coil, another rod and a few other items to complete the setup. Good luck hunting.

Hello,
I own both and hunt them pretty regularly. I lean towards the Deus 2 mostly but the Manticore is no slouch. Ease of use I think goes to the D2 as the Manticore can live up to it's Beast nickname especially for a new user. IMHO. Get out there.

I hunt with both prefer my D2 usually for land hunts my Manticore with the 9" I use in and around the water
mostly saltwater beaches I prefer it there over my D2 both great machines the D2 is more effected by EMI
I find being all wireless IMHO. They both weight the same with 9" coils I have weighed them. 2.8lbs
On my beaches lately I'm doing real well with gold and silver using my Manticore.
But I own only two detectors a D2 and Manticore all I need.

You won’t go wrong with either one, they’re both great. Performance wise they are close as well as the weight, balance reliability etc. The differences are going to be things like set-up, tones, displays, wireless, size etc. Only you will know which one is the best for you.
I sold my D2 because I didn’t have faith in the controller holder, wasn’t crazy about multiple batteries and the antenna wire. (Why didn’t they incorporate it into the shaft like the power wire in my vacuum cleaner extension?) I absolutely love my manticore. So easy to adjust, great screen, like ML tones, balanced and more BUT hate that they don’t use Bluetooth.
BTW I was surprised how easy the 11” swung on the M. I had the 9” on the D2 but heard that the 11” was nose heavy on it. So if wanting an 11” I would lean towards the M.
Watch all the yt videos you can and decide what features you like more.

Manticore has been on my radar for a while too. I've read a lot of good things about the 9" coil but not much about the 8". Can anyone give me some feedback on how the 2 coils compare ?
