Got a question about digging Pennie’s.

Well I hope getting all those zinc pennies that we all gets keeps us young and happy and continue to dig for the coin that changes are lives and makes us dance
I just want one jar of gold coins before I fade away.
Even a dinky baby food jar full.
I keep having this recurring dream where I'm found frozen on top of a mountain holding a fifty pound gold nugget up in the air. Frozen yelling Eureka !!!

Depending on your machine. On my Deus 1, I can tell the the difference btwn zinc & copper. The difference btwn copper and a dime can be a crap shoot.
It doesnt happen too often but I recall ALMOST NOT digging a zinc on a beach. Good thing I did, it was a 22K wedding ring !!!! But I usually dig everything on the beach.
Land, thats another the story. You really need to know your machine and the numbers it spits out for each coin or pull tab. Last winter I was hunting a park and not finding too much.
It was recently redone. I got a very repeatable 70 which which is an unusual number on my Deus 1. Turned out to be a very nice 14k ring with nice size diamonds and rubies.
Moral of the story, know your machine. Then u can pick & choose

Hi, I know my machine pretty good and almost dead on zinc Pennie’s, copper VDI#s R different. I tested a bunch of gold rings and jewelry and they all fell below the 40 VDI # on my Legend. The silver rings R a different story, some of them did hit the 40–42 zinc #’s. I don’t know, I’m just going to suck it up and keep on diigging those dreadful Pennie’s.
Thanx

Just finishing up cleaning 2 years worth of good pennies. I have 6 sand pails full of 'too crusty' beach pennies Im going to try and send to the mint as 'mutilated coins'
