That really is a very good and interesting find. I have never heard of Gospel Coins before.

Does anyone know what era they come from?

Were they commonly available?

I don't recall anything like them in Australia.

This one was made by Zondervan a large publisher of Christian books, I think the idea of the coins was to give them out instead of or supplementing tracts. Being made of aluminum they of course would last longer than a tract and of course be easily carried in a pocket. As for age of this particularly styled coin I could not find any information on it. The house I live in was built in 1962 and we are the second family to live in it, we moved into this house in 1978 and I know this was not something we lost and I know the prior owners were Christians, in fact their grandson is the Pastor of a Church just around the corner from us.

Thanks for the info Bell-Two - I do know Zondervans as we get their stuff here, but I don't think that tat sort of medallion was here as I'm sure I would have come across it before.
