Golden U Max Notch

Thanks Mike. This clears things up a bit. Let me ask you this. To start with whaere shoul I have the notch set at? The middle? Beale.

If you are coin hunting, set it to where the Notch Width Dial gives a good solid nickel tone on a nickel and just hunt the high coin and nickel tones.

One thing to think about....on the new tone model, the tone range is larger than the notch range. By this I mean that you can actviate the notch switch and set it to where a nickel will still give a nickel tone but everything higher will be notched out. That area isn't very wide and can be useful at times. You'll see once you get it and fool around with it.

I make specific mention to the new tone model because on the orignal model, you really can't (I couldn't with any reliability) seperate the two middle tones so it required a different technique to tell what was what.
