Been a while since I have worked wet and waters edge from company we have had for ten days and not finding anything in dry sand when going early and late. I was excited and found three pennies on the water edge quick and thought this is going to be good. Well the DF was working well and then it slowed to a crawl. I was on pass back and life guard came over and asked if I would go over and help a newly wed couple as he had lost his ring. The life guard stated there was already someone over there and he did not think they would find anything. I arrived and machine was a very low grade and had a little hand spade digging. He was in area and DF was not liking his machine. I decided to work perimeter and give him all the room he needed. He covered whole area and then said will you see if you get a reading here I hear something. I read nothing. Moved to the side and got a hit dug and it was a nickel. Moved over to the other side and got a hit and pointed and said it is here how much is it worth( just kidding) and he said I'll shake your hand. I dug and looked in scoop and said you sure that is all. It was a very large one covered in diamonds. I reached in and handed It to him and he shook my hand and thanked me and off I went to the next hit.
So I got my first really large ring today just the owner was next to me and it was returned to the rightful owner. I am not sure other guy was not trying to make a quick grab after the owner had left.
Anyway I felt good as I had done it and felt even better when lifeguard came over and asked me to help. I have left keys and glasses and other items I thought may be necessary items and costly for a family to replace. He knew I would do my best to return it to the owner. That was the most satisfying part of the endeavor. Honesty has always been a guiding factor in my life and will always be.
ended up the day with $2.08 in change and one hoop earring(junk) and one car from water for my grandson. Satisfying day.
Hope everyone else's went as well
