Gold Bugs???

Hell, I'm not waiting for the Gold Bug Pro or the Special Edition. I went to Cabellas today and bought a Gold Bug for $499 and I'm very happy
with the performance. Very sensitive, it detects 1 grain of gold which is good for me. I don't want to wait till July or ?.

FInally, the true answer that I had been waiting to hear. 1 grain of gold is good enough for me. Thanks for the true in the field example Reltobert!

I am starting to think the same Dwayne2010,and Reltobert.I just thought the pro might have been a good dualpurpose machine, you know gold and coin shooting. But from Dave J. statement, sounds more dedicated to gold than anything.Wow, gold dont have much of that in Mi.Was just looking for a machine to give me the edge on rings etc.. and still be a good coin shooter.Hell my f4 does fine on coins.Only found a couple of silvers and wheats, but thats not the machines fault it just where i been hunting lol..I still feel my days are comming!!!!!!

I'll end up trying the GB out, looking at relic only.
2 tones is all I need for what I want.
Thanks for all the your posts and trying to put
down in words about this detector.
Hope your move is smooth,
Regards.

My Gold Bug detector will easily find coins up to 10" deep using the 5"DD coil. Great coil that gives you depth and sensitivity.
The detector is one of the easiest to use compared to a F75 or F70.

I have a Gold Bug on order at Kellyco but couldn't wait for it to ship so just ordered a F75 from Backwoods for $650. Do you think I'll be selling the F75 after the Gold Bug finally arrives or cancel the Gold Bug order or just keep both? Have you used the F75 for nugget hunting? The ads claim it can do it fine but not being specifically focused on gold, I would expect the Gold Bug to be better at that. Being that you use both machines and I am getting the F75 with a Gold Bug on order, I find your experience with both machines very helpful. Thanks.

I have used both. The F75 was o.k for gold but had problems with the ground here in Az. If you were in the southeast somewhere or in mild ground I would think the F75 with a 5" coil would do about the same as the GB SE.
If i were searching for nuggets as my main hobby...I would have a dedicated gold machine. Depending on where I was would dictate which gold machine. If I wanted to do both coin/relic/prospecting I would use the Gold Bug SE.
If I were relic hunting and did not need more than 2 tones i would use the Gold Bug SE from what I have seen. If I needed multi tones then the F75 or T2.
So...not knowing where you are going to prospect I can't say which would be my choice.....unless you are in Arizona or Nevad in which case the F75 would not be my main choice.

I'm in northern Nevada and plan to check out sites in northern CA but will probably take the MD with me when I vacation in AZ, NC, SC, FL, etc. Sounds like I should just learn and use the F75 while waiting on the Gold Bug to arrive then decide if I need both. Going to join a local club here next month so can probably learn more as I go out to get hands on experience. Thanks.

That's what I like about Cabelas, if I don't like my GB I got 60 days to return it. But so far I like it quite a lot. And if they do make any major changes, back it goes. Seems like a win win situation to me! How is that omega 11" DD loop working on your GB azsh07? How's the depth? I'm concerned with the freq. mismatch.
