This is for the latest version, not the original or gold bug 2. This is not my idea, someone else came up with it. When switching from disc to all metal, for me it was a pain to always have to turn the control to find the threshold and then turn to off again for disc. Someone came up with bypassing the on/off part of the potentiometer with a toggle switch. They cut the flat part of both sides of the bottom contacts, soldered wires to them and soldered to the toggle then drilled a hold for the switch in a recess in the bottom right corner of the control housing and installed the switch. Want to change from disc to am? Flip the switch! Works wonderfully. You can put is back to original by desoldering the flats back together but the hole is still there. It could be plugged I suppose. I think you can find pictures if you do a search. The only thing I did different is that you do not have to cut both flats, just one. I also used an on/off/mom switch but really have never used the momentary part. To me this was a wonderful mod.
