gold bug just cut out

Many a time I've wished that metal detecting was a more popular hobby in our hemispheres so the larger manufacturers could justify having a service center nearer to us. Unfortunately that is not the case. But on the bright side, less detectors around could also mean more stuff for us to find. This machine is now firmly my favourite detector....and I'd feel lost without it, no kidding.

I don't know how many GB owners here are not stateside, but if you could share your experience of sending it in, Customs procedures etc, it could help others who may need repairs. May your GB be healed and returned speedily!

yep i recon its good there are not as many detectorists we have enough anyway  so finds are hard to come by and its a waste of money buying a detector  will be sure to post up how it all goes i am sure it will be fine though, yes i miss the bug for the junked out areas where its very good !!

i have a few detectors ( well 6 LOL) one for every occasion and the bug will stay in my collection for sure!!

thanks for the support hobbyist the guys in the US do not know how good they have it re: service and products we have to go through a lot of work just to get up and running and if there are problems down time is much longer, so i need spares just for this reason.

Hi Guys

just to close this thread off in a positive note!

and to make a public apology for anything bad i may have said about Fisher looking after their customers.

received a band new control box for my gold bug pro in super fast time, haven't had a chance to use it as such "weather" but fired it up and all seems well.

A big thank you to Dave J and the guys who looked after me at Fisher.

whats even better i have my gold bug pro back.

AJ

yes very happy :clapping: got version 4.

now my plan is to use the 5in coil see if i can pick some gold and silver out of the junk park has lots of activity my problem seems to be the size of the coil 1. it will look funny 2. i am used to big coils 11in on the bug the smallest i have used and how slow will i be going :bouncy:.

it will be a whole new style of hunting for me but i am sure this park is holding some goodies :clapping: and i need to use a small coil to pick them out and go super slow it will be just different i guess.

What description did you use on the Customs declaration form when you sent the bug off?
Guess it's good to test it out at the park first. Next stop should be the gold fields so you can maximize the potential of this machine!

just put electronics for repair on the form.

yes going to give it a run in the park as soon as i can get out "weather", love to hit the gold fields just costs money to get there and i don't have it at the moment just have to keep diggin coins and stop spending them on new detectors and coils
