Going to test Shaun's Amp this Weekend

Critterhunter,
The Sovereign puts out a square wave that toggles between +5V and -5V. The frequency varies from 10KHz to 50KHz. The edge rates are very fast, makes the 10V transition in under 200ns. Your first challange is to create a power supply that takes your battery voltage and converts into a dual supply. This supply must put out positive and negative voltages that can be adjusted between 5V and 10V. Both the Positive and Negative rail will need to source at least 500ma. This supply will provide power to the circuit that amplifies the +5V/-5V square wave coming out the the Sovereign. I can tell you right now who ever is going to help you with this will need a sovereign in his hands to be able to do this. You need to have the output signal from the detecter to test the circuits. Hope this helps.

Shaun....

Thanks for the info. I'll pass it along. I did manage to find some signal info on another forum but it's nice to hear it from the horse's mouth, so to speak. If anything he'll be coming up in a month or so and I'll tell him to bring his gear to run some tests on my GT. I just dug up the inductance on the TX side. If anybody knows the amp draw of the TX winding it will save me taking a reading, which is going to be a real pain in the *ss because I'll need to jumper all the pin outs from the control box to the coil's cable connector so I have access without opening the machine to do it.

So how do you like Doc's Treasure Screamer Audio Amp? Does it seem to sound off to targets that otherwise you wouldn't hear?
