going to sell my M-6 and get a tesoro vaquero

I agree that it's not a replacement for the classics. Not even close. We know there's a yellow detector on the market that blows away the Prizms for less money. Take care.

Gunnar more confusion for you. By the way great come backs from all the members. I used a Deleon on the beach and it seemed that almost every day the tones had changed so I had to learn which tone was the good tone for the day. Those days I used the meter more to help me understand what to dig. I know that the Deleon was not meant for beach detecting but it was light and had TID and the price was good. I am not knocking the Deleon I had good results with it. I am not trying to start a fight. I wonder if all detectors preform differently every day because ground conditions are not the same daily???? Again know your detector. l noticed the detector was not the same today as it was yesterday? I don't know if it is just beaches that change like that or if it is a general condition that happens to all ground? A light machine: I have only been using the xlt for a few weeks but I do notice how well balanced it is and have been able to hunt for 6 hours at a time with it. I have never hunted that long with the lighter machines that I have had. I use the TID more on the xlt than any other machine to decide what to dig. Maybe it is because it is new? This is my 4 machine and all them TID. I am a neophyte here so can not give you technical advice but just a little horse sense that I have noticed in the short that I have been doing this hobby. You could check out the Xterra 50 or Xterra 70 detectors by Minelab. They are a bit lighter than the M6 and have coil options and are pretty good detectors. My brother has one and it has detected a dime at 8 inches, and will go deeper on a larger coin.

I had an extra 30. I found the grip to be uncomfortable. It seemed like the head was always resting on my fingers. The grip is hard also. The m6 style better fits my hand. I think the ML needs to angle the grip forward more and install a softer grip. One other thing. The ML is top heavy and falls over when you set it down. If it hits on it's right side sometimes it will turn off. The batteries kind of jump in the holder and disconnect. The M6 is bottom heavy and won't fall over. I know these are small things to consider but unless you've had one you don't know. I know the M6 weighs more and that's a factor. I'm not saying the ML was a bad detector. I'm saying it didn't fit me at the time.
