Go Detect

I really loaded it with v4 again and now I got the same issue with not connected loaded it 2 more time same issue

Chippie good luck with the email. I've sent four in a year and a half and no reply yet. I would have called but (1234567890) is a hard phone number to reach.
It's been a grey screen for me on three different phones. All droids, I will not use an Apple product.

LOL certainly seems like a flogging a dead horse! I have tried 2 iOS devices also. Going by others success it seems like they have left certain ID's open and able to login and killed the rest. Possibly down to the volume of traffic they were receiving, who knows but with no update in over a year I think it looks like a dead project to me. However since XP still have the Menu option in there I wounder if they are simply working on it behind the scenes with only a few users they decided to keep on-board. Assumptions/speculation, hopefully one day we will find out :)

Hello all,

I am myself confused about this.
Running XP Detect on Android 7.1.1, nexus 5x.
I have the Deus 11" coil & remote (no headphones).

Thus far I am not so much concerned by the app itself.
It is the Bluetooth advertising that seems to be an issue for me.

I have V4 and the Go Detect menu setting to Yes/On.
My phone & desktop bluetooth do not see the deus advertising itself.
I also ran nRF Connect on my phone and it cannot see the deus advertising either.

So at this point it seems like my Deus is not emitting any bluetooth signals.

Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this but I thought I would share my situation in the hopes of solving this for all of us.

Best,
Chris W.

people the app does NOT work yet nothing you do or type is going to change that lol.... please move on to the next XP mess up that would be the release of a buggy V4

I cant detect bluetooth from XP Deus either I wonder if only newest models had them built in, that would suck as the app would not be useable for the rest

My iPhone 6s will not find the Deus controll box either. That's not an issue with go detect it's an issue with V 4.0 apparently. I have selected Go Detect Yes and my phone just can't find the Deus. I understand the Go Detect app is not funtioning correctly yet but I should be able to find my device.

It's not an issue. The app is not ready yet.

It is completely an issue if you do not have any options under Go Detect on the controller itself. It most probably means that your controller or coils do not have the BlueTooth chip in them. It does not matter if Go Detect or a different app which may have similar functionality emerges as it will be useless without the BT chip in your hardware. I have not been around but will hopefully find out tomorrow if there is a hardware change that added BT. Personally, I will want to get my Controller or Coils updated to the ones that do have it.

@Chris_w If you have the Yes/No option under the Go Detect Option then I do not believe you have anything to worry about as the BT id will simply be hidden, using the Go App will find it. As a test enable Go Detect and use something like BLE Scanner which should be able to see it.

Finally with this being a forum, people can discuss whatever they see fit and seeming as this is connected to the Deus and in my view a pretty important subject if there has been different hardware releases as XP consistently state that the hardware is the same and everyone will gain all new functionality, anyway, point being, please do not tell people to move along or what they can or cannot post. Thanks!

From what I know the Deus isn't Bluetooth. It's wireless... like how your phone, computer, etc connect to your network at home. Bluetooth is too slow to use for the coils and headphones. There's a noticeable lag when using Bluetooth.

did you not see the pictures above? he scanned for bluetooth and it detected his Deus...

The reason I am concerned is because the BLE scanner doesn't see it advertising either.
No bluetooth emissions seem to come from my deus even with all the settings properly.

FYI to help pinpoint the issue
the app permission details listed in this page are helpful

Was wondering, I played with the Go Detect app before it went down.

Why does my XP need to connect to that app? What's the purpose?

To collect the raw data sent from your Deus;

-grouping data as various sessions.
-combining Gps data with the values your dues collected and pairing it to a map
-allowing you to match your find with the values the Deus have for it. And adding your photos.
-continuous ground balance/mineralisation mapping of the terrain you covered.
-sharing the data with others.

Hopeful some more features. Maybe knowing what the Program/settings used were when the data was collected.

This is just a fair assumption based off of what the app permissions are, the screen shots and having played with XP detect and go detect a bit already.

Here is the XP Deūs v.4 manual. On page 25 there is a few lines about the "Smartphone app"

The application is NOT working yet . . . when it is it will be announced here as well as on the XP main website.

So for now, let's let XP do their magic and wait until the application is fully functional
