Ghost signals

Got the D2 with 11" coil and WS6 and have come across some anomalies, I dont usually hunt by numbers but untill i can trust this machine I am going too. Repeatable 35s but removing the first spade full its gone, have flicked through a few programs and its the same every time. Any thoughts?

Similar thing happened to me here in the US. I pinpointed and dug but nothing. My pin pointer didn't pick up anything. Frustrated, I covered the hole, stomped on the ground. I went back the next day and pin pointed it again. Mine was a US quarter on and angle about six inches down.
So as the old timers try digging a little deeper because the halo effect was disturbed. Best of luck

Those repeatable 35s for me are always a piece of graphite. I'll just notch it out when it becomes a nusance. In your case, I agreewith Coin Rescue, if you are wet hunting pasture, likely just a mineralization blip.

Hmm, low conductive area, there is sometimes gold at 35. What is the duration of tone on a normal sweep? If its not small sized it may be a clue that its a halo. I get them here at 99, sounds like a skeeter storm not a real target.

Was using p1 at the time, am back out fri/sat so will see if it replicates itself. May flag a few and take my other machine with me to double check.

I checked back on my notes and saw that 35/36 on D2 was for a gold earring air test. Maybe you hit a small piece of gold, then when you opened up the hole the machine couldn’t get another read on it.

That’s another reason I really like the Pitch audio option. Something tiny and shallow will be a short signal that’s quiet. A deeper coin sized target will have a similar volume but will have a more drawn out “wah wah” effect to it. Something coin sized and shallow will hit short and loud. So you can tell a lot IF you are COIN HUNTING, and IF the Audio Response is 3-5. Lower you will struggle to hear something smaller or deeper, especially with environmental noise….higher and the sound curve just makes EVERYTHING loud without those telltale differences.
In other news…I’m really enjoying this machine!🤠

I’ve had many ghost digs and dug big craters and nothing there ,even sieved it to be sure but it vanishes

Its happened again, but I suddenly realised that it was only happening on heavily compacted soil, eg a track that runs down the side of the field, not on open plough?
