..... just wondering, does any one know whats happened to the http://www.thunting.com/geotech/forums site down....??
 
It has been down since Friday, and I know that Carl Moreland is away on holiday for a week with no internet access. It may be that it will not get repaired till he returns.

I 'm kind a dependent on everyday visiting that forum. Was pretty confused the other day when couldn't open it!?

I'm definitely in withdrawal...

Hopefully Carl can blast an email out to all the subscribers with some info if outage persists.
If anyone knows of anything, please post or PM.

The host for THunting.com keeps changing back and forth. I suspect they are moving and having issues with getting the dns entries right.

I hope that is all it is. It would be nice if they sent emails to registered users about such maintenance operations.

here is the real owner of THunting.com. Just to put this record straight:

This post was not made by my but by Scam ... pardon Sam Scafferi a notorius message board troll. THunting.com nor any of its associated sites are shutting down and currently being moved to a bigger server as we have outgrown the old one.

The first one was by an unregistered user so I suspect that was not Christian. I sent an email to Christian at his real address and will let you know when I hear from him.

Hello all!

Thanks for your concern and interest in the thunting.com websites!

Unfortunately our old hosting company had all at once suspended our account as we had grown too big in size, causing too much traffic to their server. It took me unfortunately some time to accquire the most recent backups of the website.

I am presently having the site beeing installed on our new server and if everything goes smooth, it should be back online in a day or two. None of the old data will be lost.

Just one more note: If you see anymore of these spam postings by Sam Scafferi please just disgard them.

PS: As our site got suspended all at once we have not even be able to inform our members of the problem.
 
In the past we were always notified in advance of a "Geotech forum" maintenance shut-down . Not this time !!!! ................... If the "Geotech Forum" does not return it will be a Big Loss for hundreds , maybe even thousands of great electronic technicians / electronic engineers "world-wide".......................Regards.................Eugene52
 
I think Christian has cleared things up for us. I am looking forward to seeing the forums at THunting and GeoTech back up and running soon. I have every confidence in Christian and am sure he is working hard to get things going again soon.

Glad to have news about it, Google finally indexed the question and brought me here.
Hope Geotech will be back soon, thanks for the efforts.
And shame to the hosting company.
