I have my father's metal detector from the 70's and there's no manual. Not sure what switch position means what. There's one for old style can tabs and one for bottle tops and one for Non-disc, and each of those switches are referred to as discs. There's a high - low switch and then a tune knob. I believe from previous use when I've used the tune knob, it seems to act like a squelch on a CB radio? Does the switch position mean that you are looking for stuff like that or avoiding stuff like that? I will be using the detector at the beach in North Carolina this summer with my grandchildren, so I'm just looking for the best switch combination for that purpose. Any help is appreciated and any manual describing the functions would be great! Thanks, Steve

You can find Garrett Detector Operating manuals on
the Internet for all their detectors. Or call Garrett for more information on your detector. Hope this helps.
