Garrett Service v.s. others

Thanks wayupnorth,

and in case there is any doubt I am very happy knowing Garrett will take care of any problem I might have.

I appreciate this thread regarding Garrett service vs others. My first detector ever was the AT Pro. The first one I got had to be exchanged by the dealer. The second one went back to Garrett because it didn't match the instructions and what they said. Machine was checked out, updated and returned. Still not looking like it should. Talked to Brad and he said manual was wrong and this seems to be the case based on other threads on this forum.

My problem has been that this machine has too many start up problems. Just my opinion, but there are just too many that have had problems and new ones keep popping up. Garrett fixes them with no arguments or hassle but still there are too many returns IMO. I am already planning my next machine and that will be a gold hunter for nuggets. Until this thread I had pretty much ruled out getting another Garrett machine. Because of this thread I will get another Garrett machine.

No. I don't own the AT Pro, but I do like coming onto this forum. The only Garrett I've got at the moment, is GTI 1500. Got a couple of Minelabs as well. There is a couple in our local detecting club that have an AT Pro and yes they have taken it out onto the ggold fields. It got sent back for repair, but it will be used a fair amount for gold prospecting. The local goldfields are only an hour away from here.
Mick Evans.
