Garrett probe with E trac?

n/t

Just get a SunRay Probe. It ain't that heavy plus reaching for your hand-held probe will be harder on your arm than the SunRay. If your gonna spend the $$$$$$$$ then spend it wisely and get a SunRay Inline Probe. Besides, mount it on the battery compartment not the shaft. By putting it on the battery compartment it puts all the weight to the rear therefore helping balance it!

HH Gilly

PS / Get a Swingy Thingy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried the whole sunray probe thing back when I had a GTI2500. Although effective, it made the detector way heavy, and the cord was annoying.

Now with my E-Trac I use the pocket-size Garret Pro-Pointer. I will never go in-line again!

Hey Gilly, good to see ya...well...sorta...

Yea...I gotta agree with you about the inline. AND the placement of it. Definately place the probe on the battery box. placing it near the switch box does nothing except get the balance off AND increase the weight by default. As you say....putting it on the battery box actually causes few weight issues. ALSO...yes...get a swingy thingy. I have ordered one. Should be here in a day or two.

Also, the cable of the probe wont be a problem if you place the probe holder correctly. Besides...how much more of a problem is it versus the cable of the headphones? Besides...I can tell you how to make the ET cordless. And for just 25 bucks. Not to me, for the cost of the cordless headphones.

Got a nickle signal about half down the scale on depth gauge. I dug out about three inches down.. tried the Garrett probe. It hit nickle two inches down in dirt and raised about 1 1/2 inches above the ground. Read 12.13 on Etrac and it was on edge ..Other targets were near the same..No interference at all noticed on Machine when Probe turned on. average on targets with probe seems to be about three inches..
