Got a foot of snow during the last couple of days. With this down time, I did a total of my finds so far this year. These were all found with either the AT Pro or my new Vortex VX9. Switching from the AT Po to the VX9 was a very easy transition. What I thought might be challenging (I struggle with my cell phone) with the VX9 screen was very simple. It was just a matter of digging all targets, and observing what the bars were were showing with their extra pixels. I run it in 5 audio tones, which still gives a high tone for silver/copper. There is no gold tone, as gold can read in a very large range, depending in it's mass and what other metal it is amalgamated with. I am really liking this unit. I haven't completely mastered it yet. I figure you have mastered a metal detector when you gat to the point where you can pretty well guess what's under the coil, regardless of the actual numbers or audio. Every metal detector speaks it's own language based on how you use it, set it up and deal with various mineralization levels.
Here are the ring totals so far this year. The VX9 got most of them.
Most of these gave off iffy signals. It costs you nothing to dig them and see what they are.
