Thanks for the memories. I had the Garret Deep Seeker and it looked just about like the one in your picture. I bought mine in about 1981. I found some nice relics with it. I had the 6', (sniper coil), and the 8', & 10'. Coils. This detector went deep.

Does it turn on and beep ?
Machines a bit old. Some components in it can go bad with time. Like capacitors.

Hey RC,
What kinda planes you fly.

Awesome I'll download it sure it'll help me out a little bit I can't wait to get out there and find something even if it's a rusty nail 😉
The tones and volume of sounds is the secret to those machine's.
Listen closely.
You'll hear subtle differences between targets.

Buy some silver value coins.
All denominations.
Any pawn shop will usually have a good selection.
( I hit pawnshops after Christmas.
College kids get rid of nice tablets and laptops around that time)
Practice on the items in your yard.
Old coppers and all the jewelry in the house and family.
Just scan the ground before you put coins down.
All metal mode is best for that no discrimination !
Put coins on top of ground two feet apart.
Listen closely like your favorite music.
In time it will be your happy joi joi music.
One gold ring.
And your stuck in our world of dreams.

Learn to ground balance/GB.
You'll have terrible luck if you don't.
LISTEN TO THE SOUNDS. AND DEPTH OF SOUNDS.
Learning on the beep and dig machines.
You'll have a better understanding of the digital machines you may upgrade to.
Weight is the main reason us oldfarts upgrade.
Any machine you may upgrade to.
Research deeply.
Make certain it has the tonal quality's of what your use to.
Good Luck Nubee ...
