Garrett ATMAX

DEARS . I CAN SAY 1 THING IT'S SAME MACHINE GARRETT AT PRO REALLY I FEEL SO SAD

Little disappointed myself. Oh, there are a few nice and new features, but unless it gets some additional depth in disc mode ......... well, will try and keep a more open mind until actual in the field reports start to flow in. HH jim tn

Well Disappointed a little myself as well I will say there are some nice added features but not enough for me to get one . Cant please us all but Thanks Garrett for trying to please me . I would like to have seen a better Ergonomics design into the Detector something similar to the Fisher and Technetics design as they are more well balanced but That's OK they will sell a lot of them for the Wireless function alone. Guess I will just save my Money for another year

I'm interested in the "the at max was designed to work in saltwater". Ill get one as I was about to get an at pro anyhow and this does have some nice features.

There are some great improvements. We weren't expecting a totally new model from Garrett. Rumors from last year indicated we would get a revamped AT Pro 2 with built in wireless system. We got so much more. Garrett is always doing research and development on new improved metal detectors. One of these days a new model will be released, maybe these year, next year or 5 years. Who knows.

If this metal detector managed to squeeze a couple more inches of depth with the same coil, that really is a game changer. Hang in there......no one has even posted the results from a field test or hunt. :)

So Richard the dealer was wrong in his post... The 9v battery sounded bogus.

But you know the next detector will be a killer! :garrett:

Are you guys serious? All that anyone ever griped about in the at pro is now better, and real wireless headphones added for only a 100 bucks more..I mean if they would have redesigned the housing and rods and put it at $1000 people would have said it's overpriced..All the at pro coils, extras all work on it,,it's a win win...I think they made a great machine outstanding,,credit to Garrett

I'm getting one. Love my AT pro for park and freshwater hunting. The pro hits hard on the small gold my bbs/fbs2 machines don't see, the pro is my go to favorite freshwater lake machine. Can't wait to try the AT max.

John

John, I hope you are right on the extra 2". We know it's going to have some additional depth just by the Max having a all metal mode. Maybe, just maybe, a little extra depth will turn up in the pro zero mode. Anyway, we will know shortly. HH jim tn

And a new frequency to compliment a little more depth. An ATPRO-ATGOLD Combo on steroids.Hunting at night for some just got better too.

At about the 106 mark on the video, Steve says "increased transmit power and enhanced electronics provides the AT Max with a increased significant depth increase"

Even an additional inch would be great and as you say, 2" would be a game changer. No doubt, I am going to have to give one a swing. HH jim tn

I like it. In the video the all metal iron audio sounded like it didn't have the high/low tone on iron like the AT Gold. The iron was just a low grunt. That would be awesome. Anybody notice that. Maybe that have been changed or I was just hearing disc iron audio.

Rick

I know we were all expecting something a little different , but those saying they are disappointed are looking at it the wrong way. The MSRP is $850 ,.....but the MAP is around $722 ......that's bigger numbers , better depth , true all metal , built in wireless , improved ground balance , backlight , and threshold adjustment for about $100 more than a new AT pro + add on wireless system. It wasn't what I expected either but this is a big win for anyone looking for a new detector or a decent upgrade from the ATP. I see no downside here.

I want one.......Im just sad its not in the budget for the forseeable future LOL

Except for the occasional water hunting I get to do the all metal mode means little to me. What has always drawn me to a A T Pro is its great proportional audio, being water proof and its wonderful ability to hunt through trash and iron. If the Max gets more depth in the zero mode I would be one really happy camper. HH jim tn

x2.

Bigtom123 you hit the nail on the head. They can't please everyone but there is no doubt it is a feature packed machine with improvements and at a reasonable price point. They probably just saved me about $700 or more dollars because I was about to buy an AT Gold in addition to an AT Pro so I couldn't be happier with the thought of one machine replacing two and with more features like the backlight and wireless. Kudos Garrett :garrett:
