Gain on V3, anything above 1 unstable

Losing patience with the V3, i mainly use Deep Silver or Prospecting programs, if i have a gain level set anything above 1, the machine becomes unstable, virtually unuseable, sounds like your in a slot machine room.

Really doing my head i now..

Suggestions...?>

(no intereference with power lines etc... even coin/jewelry most i can crank it up too is around 2/3)

There have been a few bad V3's out there and White's were quick to replace them. I think a call to White's would be in order if they haven't seen this and contacted you first.

Do what Larry said, but just in case, be sure you did NOT turn Transmit boost on as that is probably causing your issues IF it is on.

I bought a V3 afew weeks ago,it was unstable when pointed into the air! I tried all sorts
of adjustments,apart from turning the gain all the way down,it was still acting up.What
was the sense of having a high powered rifle,if I could not use the right bullets?So,
I sent it back to Whites,those guys are incredible!They had a new machine heading my
way before I even sent the faulty one back.Maybe you got one from the 'unstable" batch?
The new one they sent me is excellent.

Whites is taking care of me on mine in such a way that I may never try another brand of detector. Whites customer service is the absolute best. Give them a call at the factory. They will take care of you!

Try another coil if you have one. and give Whites a call your detector or coil one is bad.

Seen the same thing on two units...coil both. Issue is fading away fast it seems.

Thanks for the replies, i'm in the UK, does this mean i have too ship the unit back too the US?

Also, made sure gain boost had not been activated... is there someone from White's i can contact on the Forum.

Contact your dealer..the one you bought the V3 from.

I don't imagine you will have to send it back for repair, Whites will probably swap it out and I am certain they have a UK distributer since they have UK dealers... but I am not Whites and cannot speak for them.
