I see a lot of great clad coin finds (which obviously I know how most people will use them.....) what about rings and silver charms etc.? Do most of you keep them or do you sell them?

If I find gold it goes into a special jar I use for buying new metal detector toys. I just sold some of the gold I have to buy another pin-pointer. If it is costume jewelry or charms I give it to the kids. They seem to enjoy it as if it was the real thing.
I let the things I find while metal detecting help buy other things I may need in the hobby.

Naturally I give my wife first dibs on any jewelry that I find. Otherwise it goes into a jar with other oddities.

I hang onto most of it but give some items away as gifts to relatives and friends.

Careful about the costume jewelry as some of the old stuff is collectable and worth many bucks. Some friends of mine held a yard sale and were selling some for two bits each until a guy savvy about jewlry stopped by and informed them that some of the stuff they were selling for a quarter was worth up to $1000 a pop.
