I have used variations of this program with all 3 coils, the 4x6, 5.3 and the D2. I have now been using the span to limit the amount of noise I receive in high trash environments. I have yet to test in my test bed as to the depth I am losing by using less span. So use at your own risk.

I currently run mine at 25 and took it down to 20 last night at a old homestead that had a house burn down on it. I pulled 5 pennies out of it and nothing below 4.5", but there where multiple power lines buried there and emi was high from the transformer overhead.

Dont be afraid to tweek the settings and determine what is best for you, what I use should just be a starting point. Take a coin outside and set it on the ground and see what tweekings give you the most depth and repeatability.:beers:

hey there from Wash. state.
I have my V-3 out all the time, and it blows my old DFX out of the water for depth. I use factory CJ. the only change I make is 2.5 khz -and i nail deep silver all the time at old parks/schoolyards. In the last week I have found 6 silver coins: 1-walker half, 2-wash quarters, war nik, and a mix of mercs and rosies. And about 20 wheaties from 1910 -1958. mostly s mints ( a 10-s in VF! ) . It doesn't have to be complicated just hang in there, deep silver awaits.

Thanks Silvermann

I haven't givin up yet as the more I use the more I learn. This forum is awesome and holds a wealth of info that keeps me going.. I've only found three pieces of silver with my V, but I know there is some yet to be found. I get just as excited digging IH's as I do silver. I know a good silver hit, I just have'nt ran the coil over one lately. " I hope". The deepest silver with the V is 6" and can't wait for that 8"+ hit...

Thanks again for the advice, will take it for all...
