Today was 32 degrees and very windy, don't know what I was thinking but I went to a new field to try it out for one hour. This weekend it is calling for a HIGH off 22 degrees and snow, s I just had to get out. I was totally numb at one hour, couldn't even feel my fingers, but I did get one real nice 1874 indians for my troubles. I am prety happy with it, real nice indian for coming from a farm field!

Real nice lookin' Indian Terry! Thanks for the pictures. I haven't swung since the end of October. It helps seeing others' finds.

That looks mint! Great coin....glad your hands thawed out enough to type this up.

Sweet Indian Terry - you just never know - one thing is for sure, it would still be in the ground today if mother nature had scared you off!

That is a sharp-looking penny. Did you clean that with a wooden toothpick at all?
I clean all my indians the same way

dish soap, water, and toothbrush, pat dry then remove any remaining dirt from between details with a toothpick, then apply wax and rub off excess with a soft towel. They turn out great with this method

Sweet Indian! Would love to find some down here. Only 5 in 2 years!!!
Thanks for posting,
Bunker

After finding that, I 'd bet you didn't mind the cold as much! Very nice!

You are one dedicated son-of-a-gun, Terry. Congrats on that indian!

Very nice Indian. I clean mine in very hot peroxide.:detecting:

Great Indian,I clean my coppers the same way except after cleaning with tooth brush I cover my coins with Anhydrous Graphite( Gunslick Gun Grease) for a day or so cleans the tough spots on Indians and large cents seals air off also so they do not flake any worse.I use to wax them years ago and works great, use to carry turtle wax can with me in case found large cent would jam them right into wax they seem to flake more if dry out.,but have been bringing more dollars at coin dealer with (Gun Slick) with this method, easy to carry small tube also.Dental picks work great also.First 30 years I hunted in Cold ,no more waiting for 50 degree weather.12 degrees ,Ottawa,Illinois. That is a great field Indian you found.
