HELLO PEOPLE, JUST NEED TO KNOW, IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME GET MY FIRST OWNED GARRETT FREEDOM 1 COIN COMMANDER DETECTOR WORKING AGAIN. A FEW YEARS BACK, I HAD THIS LITTLE DOG, I KEPT MY DETECTOR UNDER THE BED. WELL THE DOG CHEWED UP THE COIL WIRE, (IN SEVERAL AREAS OF THE WIRE) I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A NEW COIL, BUT TO NO AVAIL, HAVE HAD NO LUCK. ( EVEN CONTACTED GARRETT, THEY COULD'NT HELP ME. IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE, THAT JUST MIGHT HAVE A COIL, OR A DETECTER FOR PARTS, I THINK THEY MADE A SNIPER COIL FOR THIS ALSO, WHICH WOULD BE GREAT TO HAVE. THE CONNECTION IS A 5 PIN AND THEADED CONNECTOR. IF ANY ONE CAN HELP ME, IT WOULD BE GREAT. I WANT TO FIX THIS UP FOR MY GRANDSON.. THANKYOU. CHUCK HILL OKLAHOMA CITY

Welcome to the forum!:wave:Sorry to see that your search coil is inop.:(
I've never owned the Freedom 1, but if I remember correctly, they use the Crossfire search coil, right? If this is correct, then they will use the same search coils that the CX Plus uses.
KellyCo sells the Crossfire 4.5" Sniper for $47.50 and the 7"x10" Rhinotough Elliptical search coil for $101.96.
Here's a link:

Just scroll down to the Garrett search coils and you'll see them. I believe that there is also a 9"x12" Rhinotough Elliptical search coil available as well, but I don't see it on KellyCo's website. You might want to try calling them to ask if they have any for sale.

Best of luck to ya!:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)

If nothing else, can you add some wire and splice the cable?? It might not be waterproof, but should work.

John

Did the dog chew the cable in two or just chew the insulation off it? If the insulation is just chewed off electrical tape will fix that problem.

Bill

Chuck,I can help you with a sniper coil that will work on your Freedom 1 CoinCommander. It's a 5.5 khz Deepseeker 5-pin connector. It's in great shape with a coil cover. I sent you an email about it.
