Found some really old stuff yesterday.

Went up in the mountains to do a little creek fishing in a canyon i've fished for over 50 years and of course i brought my Simplex as i always have it in my truck. Caught a few Brook trout and decided to detect around an old stone foundation that i've seen since i was young. Only detected for about an hour and found these items. The far right button says 1776 Centennial so i'm assuming it was issued in 1876 as the Silver Top Chewing gum shows a patent of July 16 1878. The spoons, or what's left of them, show their age also as does the hand forged hammer head, the square nails and the Thimble. I'll head back up there in the near future as there is lots more to detect. HH Jim.

How many arms do you have? Detector and accessories, fishing pole and accessories........ and then you have to pack all the above back out along with the finds. You da man!!!!!

I’ve found bits and pieces of pewter utensils through the years..just once I would like to find a whole one..doesn’t look like the type of place you would find many coins but a place way out in middle of nowhere I would assume could have cache potential as they probably didn’t have a whole lot of use for money out there..

Those are some awesome relics, OCH!! Even w/o any coins!
