You are seeing the potential. as far as the skewed VDI numbers and lack of pinpointing at depth try lowering the gain some so as not to pick up the surrounding junk till you get used to it. I had the same issues and learned that The Racer aint like detectors I have owned before and ran sensitivity high out of the gate. In trashy sites I like 75 gain, and up to 90 in a fairly clean area, I also think with higher ID filter VDI will suffer and that's why I don't think the Racer is cut out for cherry picking. Just take it easy on the ID filter and gain while learning and it will click when you least expect it.
