Found a Virginia button

Nice find there JT. I have one that I found shortly after I started detecting, but it was mashed like it had been stepped on.
I found mine around an old home site and need to go back and try to find another one.
Check out this website and it may help you with backmark. You may be able to match the front design by one of the photos.
If you can get the backmark there is another site you can go to to get the probable dates of mfg.
Let me know if you need anymore help on this.

Good luck,

JT...where in Virginia. I recovered two Virginia State Officer Buttons in the Cold Harbor area near Richmond. The sandy soil there sure helps preserve the buttons. Very nice fine. TomB
