Forget Price, Whats The Most Desired Model

 I use the Bounty Hunter Ranger Pro. It does a fantastic job once you learn how to notch correctly and set the sensitivity just right. This unit was sold by Bass Pro Shops and I think it is discontinued. It is as good or better than the Time Ranger in my opinion. Hope everyone has a very Happy and Safe New Year, RDF :detecting::bounty:

From staffs metal detectors.co.uk /depth_test

The teknetics gamma

There is not much difference in them depth wise, T2 may be a little deeper.

They will be included in my depth tests in the next few months hopefully , just not had time for the last two years to do anything.

Regards

Kevin

Bose as a few great 1/8" jack headphones... so does Sennheiser.

Actually there are some extremely impressive 1/8 inch head phones on the market today. Sennheiser in particuliar makes absolutely awesome headphones with 1/8 inch jacks. Not to mention bose,Grado,AKG, and Ultrasone. Heck even Koss makes some very descent headphones.

Well getting back to topic. In my request I ask what the most desired models are, nobody mentioned the Land Star. I know its been a really good seller, from what I can find its gotten a lot of rave reviews from users.
Where does the Land Star fall as far as a Desired detector? It seems to have more market value than the Time Ranger.

I got my Platinum a few days ago and tested it in my coin garden---It is no deeper than my $150 Time Ranger and IMO not as user friendly. I sent it back to detectorelectronics to exchange it for a Delta 4000.

I think thats the most popular BH detector out there is big bud pro-if not the pro some of the old deeper analog-I have a pro 220-d its not the best depth but gets around 6-8" on a penny-silver quarter.
With the 10" magnum Im sure it get 10" on a quarter.

Im had a few in the past and 2 of the same exact style but one a radioshack the other a bounty hunter. The bounty hunter model was way better on small items and depth. The radio shack 2200 was garbage. Not even usable depth.

I like these new teknetics machines,.

No disrespect but I have been using the BH Time Ranger for the last 2 years with a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter, along with a set of cheap ( but quality sound) Kensington headphones and I have had NO problems at all with the jack loosening , going bad ect.

To me, the size of the headphone jack is not an issue at all. I've been detecting about 14 years and most of those years I have used Tesoro and Whites with the 1/4, along with name brand headphones like, GreyGhost and Jolly Rodgers. These cheap ( I think I paid $3 ) on eBay have great sound and in the summer, I am not sweating my head off ( which is why I went this route). The only down side to these Kensingtons, is there is no volume control. For me though, with the Times Ranger, this is no problem at all and simply fixed with a separate 1/8' volume adapter.

Heres a link to the headphones. Apparently they have gone up in price in the last 2 years but they are rugged and VERY cool in the summer with great sound. http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=kensington+33137+headphones&_sacat=0&_odkw=kensington+33137+headphones&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313

NOTHING wrong with a 1/8 plug in my opinion!

Yeah I use my greyghost phones but only to make battery last longer, well and to prevent looks from on looker's- boy those battery's last foreveer with good headphones.
