foreign coins

I found these 2 coins near an old house out in country. It makes you wonder about the story behind them.

Nice finds. A few years ago I found a small spill of 6 French coins dating to the early 1940's. Two were gold colored so
. You can imagine my excitement. No such luck. Felt very light like alum.

I'm with you koalinwasher, many veterans brought back coins from the countries they served in.
