For those who were wondering what the Alabama boys are talking about here's the scoop, I am ......

When we bought our business real estate (as in mortgage) in 1996 the RE taxes were about $3500. Last year we paid almost $14,000 and it will be much more this year. It's like you got the county for a non productive employee.

What's worse is that the insurance carriers don't want to do business in Florida. Our business insurance in 1996 was about $3,000. Last year it was over $10,000. Our renewal this August may force us in the next few years to close our store and lease to another business or just sell the real estate and take the money and run.

I refuse to work my butt off to pay taxes just so welfare recipients can squirt out babies or our county politicians can give it to the big box stores in tax incentives for them to come in and compete against me.

In Florida at least we have a state law that only allows a max 3% increase in home RE taxes each year regardless of market value. We pay just under $3000 per year on our house now. If we were to sell it, the new owner would pay about $7,000 in RE taxes. Sad, so very sad.

15 years of breaking my back in this state I can't find one kid out of high school who wants to work for a living and at the same time my roads are full of pot holes, I am sick of feeding the lazy while I fall into the poor house more and more each year.

I am straped to taxes that keep going up and it makes me sick and bitter, I show up for work everyday and never call in sick, I work weekends to just pay my damn taxes all year long, I work holidays just like I will this 4th of july weekend and day just to pay my taxes to keep my head above water, I make decent money but this liberal state says I am not paying enough for the lazy guttless pukes that don't go to work and I am sick of it, they have just taken away everything I have worked for.

As taxes go up and everything else in this state my wages don't and that has nothing to do with my boss, it comes down to the state of Wisconsin and their breaking my back with their liberal ways of taxing the working class to pay for the fucking lazy and they have broken my back doing so. I am bitter Ed and know I need to make a change or I am doomed.

I have worked hard all my life to just have a place called home and now this liberal state wants to take that from me, this state has taken me to the bink and I need to make a change wheather it is Alabama or Mars, I need to adjust and will somehow, someway

Ray sounds like tax is pretty darn high--My house is valued at about $120,000 and I have another 4 acres at $125,000 and my tax is about $25,000--I could sell my bear land for over $300,000+---Property value has went sky high in the last 6 years--I am thinking of selling my 4 acres when I retire if that ever happens-- the 4 acres was bought in 1968 for $5000--That gives you a idea on the jump on just bear land! If I was to sell my house I think it would be torn down and 2-3 houses would be built--3 stories and very narrow and the new houses would be about 2 Ft. apart!

Come on down to Louisiana and get you a house .$75,000.00 House is tax free ,Homestead exemption. Then go sign a use value and it can not be raised ever. The $75.000.00 House is about 1/3 of what it is worth.
And there is plenty of work in New Orleans and other parts of the state.
