For those who were wondering what the Alabama boys are talking about here's the scoop, I am ......

going to Alabama in two weeks to check out a possible job, not sure I will get the job or can even do the job at 52 years young plus I'm not even sure the boss man will want me once he meets me, maybe I'm not what he is looking for but it's definitely worth a look and trip down south for me at this time in my life

I was not even going to bring my metal detectors but was told I had better bring them or else :surrender:

My trip south is to see if this is a good fit for me and like wise for the employer who has shown interest, if not no biggie, nothing lost, just means I got to go south and meet Craig and the rest of those fine Alabama folks who I have known on these forums for years but never got to meet

Not to mention I get to see a part of America I have never seen before, I was planning a trip to Canada this fall with Cierlast to hang out with Steve and also take a day and go see Chris in Hamilton who I was looking forward to meeting but I had to put those plans on hold to take this trip, some times you have to take chances in life and this is one of those times for me. The best part is like I said is meeting the bama folks and seeing the south for the first time, if the job works out great, if not I still have a home here and job, just means I took my vacation in the summer and not the fall.

So there ya have it folks but I do have one question, do gritts taste like QATMEAL

.... well depending on who cooked them and how long ago they were cooked, ... well General you'll have to decide for yourself.

I guarantee you'll like them more than a snapping turtle boiled in a baggie with Wisconsin cheese and eggs. Grits aren't my favorite breakfast food, but hey, I don't generally eat breakfast ... but when I do, if they got em' I'll eat em'.

My wife is from Georgia and she loves grits .... I just like' em.

I'm afraid after you meet Craig and Miss Vickie (the REAL BOSS), Cory, and see the area, you'll be hooked. If I were to move from Florida, Bama would be high on my list to move to.

Compared to other parts of the country, Bama has yet to be really recognized for it's real estate potential ... land values are where you want them to be as they will be "busting the bubble" as they sky rocket upwards in the future.

I know for a fact that Craig is a true gentleman and his word is his honor ... and that he has "earned" his ownership in the business.

The least you'll get from the trip will be wonderful friends, hot sweaty detecting ... and a promise of never having to shovel out another snow filled driveway.

Well, I was really looking forward to meeting up with you but it sounds like you might have a great opportunity down there. Vicki and Cory are probably very nice people but I think its going to take a lot of understanding and patience on your part to handle whats his face. On the upside for me, I guess I can go ahead and do those fields I was going to save!

me outa my 90 year old home here in Wisconsin. Last year I paid $2500.00 in property taxes on this old broken down barn, that was based on a assessment at $89,000, they just reassess the Village, my assessment went up to $124,500, if the mill rate stays the same my taxes will go up to $3600.00 a year, they got me over a barrel, either way some thing has to give.
