fools gold canyon

When I was a Cub Scout in McKinney we went on a camping trip to "Fools Gold Canyon". This was before highway 75 was completed but was under construction as we hiked from downtown to our campsite using that route. I found this forum thread by doing a Google search of the pertinent terms. I remember finding some pyrite on that trip.

East of hwy 75, south of Wilson Creek (yes a connection to my family name), and north od Stewart road seems right to me. There is a new golf course and housing developments in that area but judging from recent satellite photos, there is still some undisturbed land. I plan to visit that area in the next couple of days to see if there are still some remnants of that long lost canyon.
