Folks, there was/is the DEUS and now the DEUS II.

Annoying???

You come on a forum and folks expect you to contribute but we know nothing about you, what you use or the type of hunting you enjoy.

Then I try to have a public discussion with you about the two latest models that are out or coming soon, and all you say is "annoying".

Monte that is a pretty wide net you cast. I'm just out of my 7th year into my 8th. A lot of good people have just started or recently started detecting. To come on here and imply that we are stupid. I give up Monte. I and, I'm sure others don't appreciate being called stupid. I watched as some of my good friends left AHRPS and I bit my tongue. Then I read this thread you started. Dammit, all you had to do was say "I'm sorry" and move on. But no, and that's the problem......" you're never wrong"

A good back and forth argument is one thing. But to start calling people stupid for merely wanting to say Deus 1 instead of Deus and then to go on and state beginners, that being people that have detected up through their 7th year are now also stupid for making a number of posts.

We post because we ask questions, we ask questions so we can learn.

I started a post on AHRPS and prob is my last one. All my friends ( D&P, Zincoln, UtahRich, and others) have left. It's prob time I moved on as well.

I don't hold grudges and no hard feelings, just time for my path to head in a different direction.
 
You know I am watching this nitpicking argument and it makes no sense. It reminds me of when Brits and Aussies pronounce aluminum differently than we do. We all know what they are they are talking about, we don’t say pronounce it like we do because we understand people may say or refer to things differently. We all understand which machine Calabash is talking about when he calls one machine Deus I and the other Deus II. Why can’t we just leave it at that?

XP does acknowledge of page 34 of the Deus 2 User Maunal just for those who are having a fit over the terminology. Shown below highlighted in Yellow

I know I left Monte's forum years ago. But he just called a bunch of guys stupid. That ain't cool...I've learned alot from guys with 5-10 years experience. Monte needs to swallow some pride and just be a better person. I don't care if Monte detected when dinosaurs were around , that does not make him smart and us stupid. He criticizes everything someone else does when it comes to detecting because it wasn't done his way.
 
TO ALL READERS:

* Yes, zi call a Deus a Deus or the Originall Deus.

** As I stated, maybe twice, I am sorrh. I made the post after some comments from people in e-mails, PM's or phone discussions who pointed out they didn"t like the 'I' added to the Deus.

*** Maybe I should have just asked who prefers Deus and who favors Deus I?

**** I don't dive but on the other CalabasIh videos I have made positive comments. I watch them, and like others, I learned some things from them. I posted and let him know I liked his CalReluc program using the Mono mode and he said he would share his settings with me. I don't have a problem with CB.

***** I also contacted some of those I spoke with who didn't like Deus I and asked them directly and most of those 'Back East' also told.me they didn't like CB. I suggested the pay attention to the video content and what can be learned. That is the important part.

--> I do not have a Deus because zi just didn't care for them, but I have had 4 of the XP ORX units and they worked well for me and the places I used them.

I also made it very clear that after watching many videos from Calabash, Gary Blackwell and a few others, I am going to be adding a Deus II to my working detector battery.

And OregonGregg, certainly you must know my "7 year" comment was not referring to you. I just grabbed a number because you have also seen newer members to this hobby make suggestions or ask questions that seem to come from a very unknowledgable petson.

We all can have sense of humor, too. Look how we often UtahRich and you have had back-and-forths about you and the FORS CoRe or Racer II with the snake coil.

I wasn't referring to you, but to those who seem to not want to learn but are quick to try and appear knowledgeable but come across as if very skilled and knowledgable.

Now, and I am including me, we need to take a breath, not nit-pick, and just enjoy this great sport and the videos that can help us along.
