Flat Button Question

I know nothing about old buttons. I found this small flat button yesterday and wanted to know if it could be from the late 1800's.

Don't know the age, but I have found many similar buttons in fields around maryland and virginia. Could easily be older than 1800s.

More likely mid 1800s.

The back of the button gives you lots of clues ... "London Treble Gilt" Search on those terms and start reading. I did not find exact matches to your button in a quick look, but if you want to spend some time looking, you can narrow it down.
Nice find!
