I talked to the developer at Digstock He was very confident about its ability to discriminate and have excellent depth. The conversation sure piqued my interest. Price and availability were unknown in October.

Seemingly except for getting a few out into the hands of some well known water hunters, it appears to have been put on hold. Perhaps for lack of some components. Some info on some other forums, though. HH jim tn

Complete postings on Tom D's forum. Basically, 100 prototypes were made for testers who would pay I think it was $1000 or $1500 for the privilege to own one. Not all were equal.
Not many takers. May never come to the consumer market. Not sure what current status is. Everything kind of went quiet, fell off to the wayside.

I have two of the AQ LTDs. The stock batteries only run it for between 2.5 and 3 hours. Joe "OldBeechnut" designed and built some excellent after market batteries that run it for 8 hours or a little more. I was fortunate to get those for my LTDs. He only made a few and is back to hunting the bay and not building. (Go get em Pirate!) The yet to be released final version is reported to have a better battery solution than the stock LTD. From what I've read, I think it will come to market. There was an issue with a couple voltage regulators frying and they want to make sure root cause is fixed before final release.

The discrimination is useful, but I find myself running in all metal mode nearly all the time. Setting the discrimination is a trade off on a couple of settings and if not careful you start excluding big gold (as in men's class rings) all while still hitting well on some hair pins. You can learn to exclude much of the iron by listening to the edge characteristics of the tone as the target is swept.

It is deep, very deep.

Around resorts and piers, there are some that cause interference with the AQ LTD that can be lessened with settings. I've had some bad interference when boats go by close ... seems badly shielded ignitions talk to the AQ.

I've enjoyed hunting with it. For me it is a keeper.

From what I’m reading here is this simply a water dog or is there dry land application?

Thanks!
