Fisher gold bug special edition...:please:

The below photo shows 1 grain of gold on the right. Both together weigh .01 ounce or .3 grams or about 6 grains total.
Yes, the coins, etc. show depth in inches.

reltolbert that is impressive results, but we are talking all metal

Can you please set the discrimination on 38 so it is just grunting on small iron, and give the results of the air tests again

I guess most folks will use a little discrimination, as they wont want to be digging up small nails all day

These are air tests only:
Discrimination is set at 38 with my Gold Bug using the 11"DD Omega Coil: Penny at 12" deep, nickel at 13", dime at 11",
quarter at 12", half dollar at 13".
.01 ounce of gold (.3 grams or 6 grains) at 5" deep, 1 grain of gold at 2 1/2", pull tabs at 15", 22 bullet shells at 11".

Discrimination is set at 38 using the standard 5"DD Coil: Penny at 10" deep, nickel at 11", dime at 9",
quarter at 10", half dollar at 11".
.01 ounce of gold (.3 grams or 6 grains) at 5" deep, 1 grain of gold at 2 1/2", pull tabs at 10", 22 bullet shells at 8".

great results i guess these are all high tones?

If you pass a rusty small nail under is it a distintive grunt?

I can not wait for my G2 now

Those are high tones except for the items that come in under 38 or whatever setting you make and those come in at a distinctive grunt noise
which will eliminate a lot of trash.
5"DD Coil is great for junk areas and the 11"DD Coil does very well for it's size in those trash areas.
I can't believe the depth of this Gold Bug machine. So, when you receive your G2 or the Special Edition
or the Gold Bug Pro, compare it to mine and you should do as well if not better.
The 11" DD Coil will hit a 6" diameter tin lid at 35" (all-metal) and 31" at a discrimination setting of 38,
so it will go deeper than that on larger objects.
The 5" DD Coil will hit the 6" diameter tin lid at 28" (all-metal) and 26" at a discrimination setting of 38.
The 5"DD Coil will hit on those targets in average mineralized soil at almost the same depth as in the
air tests. I haven't tried the 11"DD Coil in those conditions yet.
Rusty nails and most other similar items will make a grunt noise except for those pull tabs (#62-64) and 22 shells (#56-59)
which are a pain in the ---. Of course, if you make a higher discrimination setting of #65 or more than
almost all junk items will make those grunt sounds. But since Gold (flakes or nuggets) comes in at #44-49, you may not want
to have that higher setting.

Although not designed as a coin hunter, those wishing to do so with it won't be disappointed. 11"/12" on a clad dime. 12" on a clad quarter. Very close in depth between 5" & 11" coils. The 11" is a little stronger, and of course it covers more ground per sweep.

At $499. selling price, I doubt anyone purchasing will be disappointed. I'll give you my word, it will do as claimed.

I'm going to take it to the salt beach later, and give it a wring out ther

Mr. Bill.

Plugged in a 8' round concentric coil from a Gamma 6000. Works well. good depth. In all metal with a US Nickel were nudging the 15' mark. In Disc. about 12 ish.

This is one hot detector. I don't care what frequency it has, or don't have, it kicks butt. :)

Mr. Bill

Sounding very impressive, I am so jealous I have not got one.

Mr Bill have you any news when the G2 will be at the dealers?

I heard a rumour it is only a month away
