Fisher GBSE vs GBSE Houston we got a problem!!

what was the source of this different SE? New, used? No chance it was some sort of proto that wound up in the used market?

Got a new GB SE 8/30/2010 has sticker on shaft , modulated audio and will disc nail head at
around 14

I will say as for one chatting a little more than the other in Keith's video the 11DD will do
that more than the small 5DD coil

so it was a last batch run....

Not sure what happened

What's bad there's no telling how many odd ball machine's get shipped out to people that end up using them never experiencing the true performance..

If I get 2 random unit's not working properly in a few month period how many more are floating around sub-par...

Probably why we see people praising a certain model and other people cussing the same model..

Quality Control need's to be more addressed at the Monday Morning meeting's

Good engineering design's but the assembly need's some serious addressing..

I have wondered if this is the same assembly line team that they used for the Bounty Hunter of year's past...I am sure as long as the product was finished and out the door that was all that mattered and people of Wal-Mart never knew good from bad...But when you are getting into world Class detector design and having serious enthusiast and Hobbyist use your product it's time to tighten up...

We see the amalgamation of different manufacturing approaches and they will eventually get the wrinkle's out I'm sure...

Well I have said enough on the matter...

The Gold Bug SE is still the finest detector for hitting low conductor's in adverse condition's I have ever used and don't think twice about recommending it.....

I just got one (SE)that fell through the crack's some how...

And yes you are right on the 11 a little more crackly than the 5....

I am glad your's and other with the pro's are seeing the performance of the original...Maybe even more? I have heard the new ones are supposed to be a little better in Harsher mineral's...

Does your display clear after 3-4 second's? I really like that feature...
Does your all metal sens seem smooth at 100 or do you need to turn it back to about 60-70 to smooth it up?
Do you notice at around 30-35 on the disc a sens change like a little more chatter coming in ever so slightly?

Thanks

Keith

Keith I puchased mine when they first came out and it only had 4.5 inch max depth on coin sized object and it had the silver problem. Mine from the beginning always went back to blank after 4 seconds. W hen I got it back they fixed the silver problem but it still had the depth problem. They did put the se edition on the shaft. The second time I sent it in they had it in for quite awhile and I just got it back last week and it is a depth demon. The letter said the same thing that they calibrated it. My machine is a combo of your two units. It has the vco audio the screen blanks after 4 seconds it needs a disc of 27 for nails the all metal mode is smooth at 100 I do not notice a sense change from 30-35. I did the deck thing with the dime and it will seperate like your first one. I hope this helps but it seems to confuse me more.

Take care

Bob

Keith one other note is the ground balance number it 10 points higher on the gbse than my f5 in my yard the f5 is 61 and the gbse is 71. Could anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks

Bob

I have not used AM much but i can run smooth at Max.
Yes 3 second delay off for screen.
Disc chatter over 30 don't think so .

will your's I.D. as deep in all metal at max sens as it will in disc max sens...

reason I ask is... On my original S.E. I have to turn my gain on all metal back to about 60 or so to smooth it up but the I.D. ability on 60 is not like the disc I.D. ability depth wise...
Now on 100 gain in all metal it's to warbly to run but it I.D.'s alot deeper like the disc mode at 100 does...

So if they have the gain at 100 all metal smooth and it I.D.s same depth as disc gain100 that is a bonus for sure...

And I do like the screen clearing for personal reason's and certain hunting scenario's....

Thanks

Keith

Keith mine in am is deeper and the arc is really consistent not by alot but maybe .5 to 1 inch depending on target

Take care

It is not a Cabella's model I have the Cabella's model and there is no change in the tone for depth in disc mode. Just a solid response and at disc 13 the nails give low tone with the head of the nail and intermittent low high with the side of the nail. at disc 30 both head and side are low tones. I am getting more depth on the lead (hard to really tell at the angle its shown) with my five inch (8 inches) coil than shown on the 11 you have And with the 11 I get Right at 12 inches. I cannot get my sens to max anywhere in the city and out at Rye Patch this weekend was the first time I have ever been able to set at max sens. 14 miles from anything electrical and no cell service where I was at. However the tones on your machine are the same tones I get, I just have no depth indication by tone! My VDI stays fixed until it hits another target.
I'm hoping that this is not the Pro as I was thinking of getting one for the VCO response.
Maybe something is wrong with that unit.
Thanks for the great videos and good luck

I believe the Pro is as good as the S.E. I just have a Lemon!!
