Fisher 10.5 coil

I bought this coil for either the Coin$trike, but I traded the machine before I ever used it. The coil may have been "new old stock" when I bought it, as it appears to be unused. It has a coil cover on it; no scratches on it, and the coil itself, also has no scratches, chips or cracks. 5 pin connector (one pin is in the center). I believe this coil works with the CZ's and the coinstrike. $90 shipped conus.

Thanks Doug. PM replied.

They never made a white spider coil for the Coinstrike!
Also, Coinstrike coils and CZ coils are interchangeable The CZ's are two frequency while the Coinstrike is a single frequency!
Does it have a decal on it reading QickSilver? if it does then its CZ coil.

Its for sure Not a Coinstrike coil, it has the wrong type plug on it. The coinstrike coil is female (to receive pins) the connector on your coil is male pined.

Yes, it has "Quicksilver" on the top of the coil, right nect to the mounting lugs. As I said, I bought it to use with my Coinstrike, but traded that detector before ever trying out the coil. I didn't remember what type of connector the Coinstrike had, or I would have correctly listed it as a CZ coil, so thanks for bringing this to my attention

However, it is sold pending payment, to a buyer who wants it for his CZ detector.

Mark, What is the difference between the black coil and the white coil? I just got a black one for my CZ6a and CZ70 PRO.

I don't think there is any real difference in the coils other than an earlier design and later design.
Its my understanding that Fisher's first design of the spider coil was the transition from the "white" boxed (solid bottom coils) so the first spider coil (open frame type) was also white.
Later on the white color was dropped and they went to black.

Some people liked the white coils (like me) in lower light or night hunting the coil is MUCH easier to see. But they do probably show dirt and stains worse than the black.

My 1266 (very early version) has a white standard 8" spider coil, I later found a very nice 10-1/2" white spider coil for it. The 1265 came out before the 1266 did, the 1265 (or models from there back) used the solid bottom white box coils. After a couple years of production of the 1266 and the white spider coil was changed to black.

Another little clue.
When the white spider coils came out the coil covers were also white! so if a white spider coil has a black coil cover that coil cover is newer than the coil. Both of my white spiders has black covers.

Did any of the original older CZ's have a white 8'' spider coil?
Yes! the first models that came out had the spider coils one. I don't think the CZ's ever had the solid bottom box coils (I don't think anyway??)
I'm not sure but I'm thinking that the CZ's never used the solid bottom box coil, I'm thinking when the CZ first came out was at the time of the transition to the open frame coils which were white.
