First time out with bounty hunter tracker IV its nothing short of fantastic!

Dave I would guess that the Landstar and the 505 are similar? I used to have the Landstar and it was totally different than my Tracker. They complemented each other very nicely. The sheer simplicity of the Tracker made me never want to get rid of it. I even traded my Landstar for another one recently :)

I understand how that could have happened . I seen the same comment done in another forum here I think they were talking about the Teknetics T2 either it or the LTD Edition saying it was the best kept secret.
Someone commented the same way I did, yet he was not off based he was trying to let on to others not to buy one Jokingly saying that they find stuff then he "ROFL" laughed. I knew and others took it as a Joke so I tried to do the same thing here but it back-fired. OOOOPPPSS Sorry Guys. No hard feelings I'm here for such a good time, life is to short to be mad at anyone for any period of time. I live my remaining days like they were my last so I take life seriously but like to Joke around with people, hope it didn't offend to many. I have been detecting since the 1970's and I have used many BH detectors from "El cheapo" up to higher priced BH Big Buds etc. My best detector no matter what is new on the market today is still my Fisher 1265X, I thank Dave J. for helping design this killer machine, till this day I will not sell this detector for all the money in China. Dave J. when you produce the next 1265X-2 version I'll be the first in line to purchase one. Also I'll keep sending people to buy the TRKIV - those on a tight budget.
Sorry for being misunderstood ! And keep up with the great finds with this detector.HH

505 and Landstar are very similar.

To all happy hunting and Dave you seem to be one of bounty Hunters gurus much respect. I am a huge fan of bounty hunter as it was my first detector I ever owned in my younger years. My favorite is the tracker IV by far. I also have a tracker II and like it alot.:bounty:

I'm the Chief Designer for FTP-Fisher products including the BH line, hired in early 2003. Prior experience with Fisher, Tesoro, White's, and Troy.

I didn't design the TK4 or even redesign it, it was so right already that the boss wouldn't let me touch it. Everything in the BH line that had visual ID got a major redesign not long after I came aboard, not so much to change features as to improve reliability and manufacturability, with performance improvements wherever we could do that without compromising reliability or manufacturability.

I have read about you a bit Dave J and its an Honer to meet you. I read youv'e helped design manny nice detectors for fisher and bounty hunter and manny others. Its people like you that are responsible for making metal detecting what it is today. A great hobby and a wonderfull online community such as Findmall to bring detectorists together from all parts of the world.. My hats off to you Dave thanks for your great contribution to metal detecting.:usaflag:

Thanks, Trackerman. Actually I got my proverbial "15 minutes of fame" a long time ago. I no longer have any need for accolades, that's why my signature line is almost always "Dave J." without any further identification. Anyone who wants to know who "Dave J." is, only has to click and there it is, even the unpleasant part.

His name is synonymous like the Dave of Wendy's fame almost a household name except instead of burger's it's detectors lol!
