Elton,
I understand your not trying to argue, My machines are older and I had 2 for a reason, I use oone for a backup and if a friend wants to go with me. I was trying to make one out of 2 so I could still have one while I sent the other in. I FAILED miserably. If I had known that the outside headphone coating being cut would still not let water in the unit I wouldn't have tried it. The origional problem on the one that died was MY FAULT. I didn't tighten the battery compartment door and water got in the unit. Neither one worked after I took them apart. I fix computers for a living, going on 17 years. I fix laptops and palms. I thought an electronic detector would be no problem. Boy was I WRONG!!
However it failed. And that is where the first problems arose. While one was still being repaired another came up for sale for 350.00. I couildn't pass it up. It has a 8" coil and I really want my wife to try detecting. That is why the third. She is small and I didn't want her to try to push a 10" coil around in the water!
Yes, most all my problems have been addressed. Some of my posts were deleted and two issues still remain.
I think Mike Scott is trying to do a very difficult job that isn't even his to deal with and I give him lots of credit and respect.
What got me the angriest is when I didn't have the money to repair the second one and I asked them to ship it back, I got one back that wasn't mine at all. The electronics were ruined and the machine was completely rusted out on the inside. They would NOT acknowledge that they sent me somone elses machine and the price to repair it went from 377.00 to 539.00.
I hope this helps a bit. Lets give them a chance and see how they treat others since a new price structure has come out and a better warranty after repair. You can't get that kind of warranty ANYWHERE on a repair of ANYTHING that I know of that has to do with electronics.
