First outing with the V3i & ???

Bought a used V3i & finally got to take it out today to test it out. If I read the manual correctly, the factory programs have been modified. So I will assume they are running hot... My questions is about the standard 10" DD coil. While dropping down to dig a signal, I noticed that if I tap the front edge of the coil with my index finger it will sound off. Is this normal??? First tine using the V3i & I've got a lot of reading/studying to do to start to understand this machine. I did enjoy trying it out today & really like the wireless headphones.

Being a used machine, I would call the factory and they will guide you through a master reset bringing everything back to factory settings. It is hard telling what someone else might have done to the programs.

Thanks for the tips. I do appreciate it.

Change the coil.

you might also try "restoring" all the settings back to factory. you can document the previous owner's settings if you want to keep them but everything you do from the coils to the ground you're digging will probably be different from the prev. owners. I must say the factory settings are pretty good, no joke! the folks at white's know what they're doing. happy hunting!

Thanks to all for the info....

Reset V3i back to factory settings. Seems much more stable & coil seems to be ok.

Howdy Sataro--

Glad that you got your V3i back to preset programs. Now you can configure it to your ground and hunting style. Best of luck and...

Happy Hunting!
